What are the moisture resistance properties of PU Foam Board?

PU foam board exhibits excellent moisture resistance due to its closed-cell content exceeding 90%. Its water absorption by volume is typically less than 2% when tested according to ASTM C272 standards. The facers (especially aluminum) provide additional vapor barrier protection. However, proper installation with sealed joints is crucial to prevent moisture migration through edges. Unlike some insulation materials, PU maintains its thermal performance when exposed to moisture and doesn’t promote mold growth within its structure.
