- XPS Insulation: When properly installed and protected from prolonged UV exposure and physical damage, XPS insulation has an exceptionally long service life, often exceeding 50 years and potentially matching the life of the building itself. Its closed-cell structure does not degrade from moisture, rot, or mold. Its main performance change is the thermal drift to its stable LTTR value, after which it remains constant.
- FRP Sandwich Panels: The lifespan depends heavily on the environment. In controlled interior environments (cleanrooms, cold storage), they can last 30+ years with minimal maintenance. In harsh exterior or corrosive environments (chemical plants, marine), lifespan may be 15-25 years, depending on the quality of the FRP resin, gel coat, UV stabilizers, and installation. Regular inspection and maintenance of seals and surfaces are key to maximizing longevity.
