How are Balsa Core Materials manufactured?

Balsa core materials are manufactured by harvesting mature balsa trees, kiln-drying the wood, and then cutting it into blocks or sheets. For end-grain balsa core, the wood is sliced so that the grain runs perpendicular to the panel surface, maximizing compressive strength. The material may be scored, scrim-backed, or treated with resin-compatible coatings to improve handling, flexibility, and bonding performance. Density grading ensures consistent mechanical properties across each panel.
